Super Hot — the browser prototype — is where the time-moves-when-you-move idea started. Faceless red enemies come at you in a white void, you have no health, and every step you take moves the world forward with you. It is short, sharp and still one of the most original shooter concepts of the last decade.

This is the original free prototype rather than the full commercial release, which makes it the fastest possible way to understand why the mechanic works.

How to play Super Hot

Stand still to freeze time and read the room.
Move in small increments — each one advances the world.
Punch enemies to disarm them and take their weapon.
Throw an empty gun to stun an enemy and buy yourself a step.

Tips for Super Hot

Bullets are objects in the air. Walk around them rather than trying to outrun them.
Never move two steps at once unless you have already decided both.
Take the weapon from the closest enemy first; it removes a threat and arms you in one move.
If you die, you lost the plan, not the fight — think one more step ahead.
